Rainbow Bridge explosion: Niagara Falls casino reveals couple’s movements before crash

New details have surfaced regarding the tragic incident at the US-Canada border crossing at Niagara Falls, where a vehicle explosion claimed the lives of two individuals on Wednesday. According to law enforcement sources cited by CNN, the victims, a local New York man and his wife, were en route to a KISS concert in Canada, which, unfortunately, had been cancelled.

The identities of the couple remain undisclosed. On the night of the incident, the pair briefly visited a casino near the border before tragedy struck. The vehicle, a speeding Bentley, collided with the Rainbow Bridge crossing, resulting in the fatal outcome, as reported by the same sources.

The Seneca Nation, responsible for owning and operating the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino, confirmed that the vehicle had briefly stopped at their establishment just moments before the crash. The duration of the stop was described as a “matter of minutes.” Subsequently, the vehicle traveled less than a mile to the border crossing at Rainbow Bridge.

According to information from the FBI field office in Buffalo, the vehicle hit a curb on the US side of the border, became airborne, and then erupted in flames. Initial concerns about a potential terrorist attack were raised due to the nature of the explosion. However, New York Governor Kathy Hochul later reassured the public, stating that there was “no sign of terrorist activity” in connection to the incident.
