Today in Capital Matters: ESG Backlash | National Review

The Three Percent Non-Solution | National Review

Richard Morrison of the Competitive Enterprise Institute writes about the backlash against the woke investment trend:

While the debate among analysts and academics as to whether ESG-themed investments can beat the wider market’s performance over the long-term continues, there is little doubt that ESG’s political progress is now facing strong headwinds. From conservative investors to Republican members of the Senate Banking Committee, constituencies who previously paid little attention to the world of “corporate social responsibility” and related activism are suddenly focusing intently on its progress. Proponents of ESG theory would do well to address their fellow Americans’ serious concerns if they don’t want to see their movement run aground entirely.
