The Progressive Plot to Raise Prices | National Review


I don’t agree with everything in this op-ed, but it’s absolutely right regarding how regulations constrain supply and drive up prices.

In response to the piece, Josh Barro of Business Insider had a good summation of why the BBB child-care proposal would, for the same reason, drive up costs:

This is the mess waiting in child care: Simultaneously hand out large subsidies, impose new restrictions on how to staff, and impose non-discrimination rules that will exclude many religious providers (who are currently *half* the market).
