That basically sums up the 13 Republican House members who helped save Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden last night.

Some have argued that passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill makes passing Build Back Better more difficult for Dems. I think this may have been true if you believed that the obstacles to passing were greater in the Senate than in the House. But, once progressives in the House dug in and tied both bills together, that started to unravel. Even throughout yesterday, progressive house members were wrestling with what to do. With 13 Republicans willing to vote for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIF), six Democrats could burnish their progressive street credibility by opposing it, just in case their deal with the moderates falls apart in the next week.
