Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available on Meta’s Quest VR headsets

Microsoft is extending its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to Meta’s VR headsets, including the Quest 2, 3, or Pro models. The beta version of the cloud gaming app is now available through the Meta Quest Store, offering users with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a controller, and a Quest headset the ability to stream hundreds of Xbox games. Supported Bluetooth controllers include Xbox, PS4, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers, with future support planned for PS5 controllers. Users can enjoy immersive VR environments or explore an Xbox-themed virtual space on the latest Quest 3 and Pro headsets.

This expansion is part of a broader collaboration between Microsoft and Meta, aiming to bring Microsoft Teams, Office, and Windows experiences to VR. The partnership seeks to enhance VR meeting experiences and productivity tools for users of Meta’s Quest headsets. Microsoft Teams is set to go 3D in January, with the release of a Mesh-powered VR meeting experience, which will be accessible on Meta’s Quest headsets. This move represents a significant step towards integrating gaming and productivity experiences in the virtual reality space, providing users with a diverse range of applications and entertainment options on their VR headsets.
